Thursday - moved in to new house in Brighton.

Friday/Saturday - visited brother in London and made the pilgrimage to Griffin Park on Saturday. 2-0 to the Super Bees woohoo!!!!

Sunday - planned a morning session, then drive to Cornwall to meet up with the Under Pressure Challenge crew. Went to King Alfred's but wind was crap and bolt onshore. Checked forecast and it was looking crap for Monday, so decided not to drive all the way to Cornwall, thought maybe would go Monday afternoon for one day's sailing with them on Tuesday. Wind picked up a bit in the afternoon so went to King Alfred's again. Was marginal but looked OK for the new 5.9. Out it came - bling bling how shiny!!! Was very careful when rigging it up, didn't want to scratch it! Walked down to the water and ARSE wasn't windy enough, also v onshore still. Also a munching shorebreak. Stood there for about 10 minutes - really wanted to go out, but knew it would be suicidal... Eventually made the right decision and gave up and walked back up to the car. So still haven't used the 5.9!

Monday - was proper windy in the morning so went to King Alfred's. Looked good there but no-one else out and very onshore. So drove on to Shoreham. Got there and ARSE wind had just died. Lots of people walking back up from the water with their kit. However - some very very loopable waves were pushing in - thought to myself will defo have to come back here! Couldn't be arsed to drive all the way to Cornwall for one day's sailing. So I didn't.

SO....after all that bollox, was gagging for a decent sail. Wake up Tuesday morning, checked the conditions from my bedroom sea-view, and yes it's windy. Was hoping for a bit of looping action at Shoreham, but when I got there it was looking disappointingly flat. :( Still, solid 5.2 weather, no complaining. Session was best at the start when tide was still low and water state not lumpy crap. A couple of nice duck gybes, and practised a few strap-to-strap gybes on the outside with approximately nil success, but they were getting progressively better. As the tide came up the water state degraded to lumpy crapness, also the wind picked up so I was proper maxed out. Thought about changing to the Quatro but couldn't be arsed. So just spent the last part of the session charging around, getting to grips with the bumpy conditions, and scoring one or two nice jumps.

A good solid windy session - although no decent waves and no looping action so nothing particularly special - but still an easy 4 stars.
